Call for Special Issue on Trust and Veracity of Information in Social Media

Call for Special Issue on Trust and Veracity of Information in Social Media
Jochen Spangenberg

Here’s some information about a special issue of ACM Transactions on Information Systems (TOIS). It should be of particular relevance for researchers working in the areas of Social Media analysis, especially those focusing on trust and verification aspects.

REVEAL project partner ATC, together with a guest editor, participates in the forthcoming special issue of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Transactions on Information Systems (TOIS). The special issue’s topic is “Trust and Veracity of Information in Social Media”.

The planned publication is to focus on the problem of modeling and assessing the trust and veracity of content and information posted in social networks. It aims to bring together researchers from the areas Information Retrieval, Web Science, Data Mining, Social Network Analysis, Social Computing, Information Visualization, Natural Language Processing, Multimedia and Human-Computer Interaction, and to combine perspectives and research from Computer Science and Sociology.

The topics foreseen are very relevant to projects such as REVEAL and other research undertakings dealing with related issues.

The submission deadline is 24 March 2015.

For more information on the call, please go directly to the ACM page on which you can find all required information.

Editor’s note: This post is based largely on an announcement posted on ATC’s iLabs website.
